Ag's face a renters' market going into fall 2018

A multifamily property in College Station.COLLEGE STATION – A housing trend is troubling local landlords and property owners, who say the local market has become over-saturated with rental properties.

According to the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M, the vacancy rate for apartments alone is nearly 18.9 percent, one of the highest in the state.

The Bryan-College Station Regional Association of Realtors multiple listing service showed more than 50 properties decrease their rental price in the first week of July 2018.

The market is expected to eventually go back to normal—Dr. Jim Gaines with the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M told KTBX it could take as long as three years.
